"On May 19, 2015, Geneva celebrates the bicentenary of its entry into the Swiss Confederation. The GE200.CH Association is using a video game, a fun and educational medium, to discover what led the canton to join the Swiss Confederation. Players experience the key events from the end of the Ancien Régime to the end of the Restoration (1762 to 1841), and learn about the political, economic, cultural and social aspects of history. The historical period is explained in detail through illustrations, representations and characters of the period, as well as texts setting the historical context. This information can be read or listened to thanks to a voice-over. Digital media such as historical video games have been chosen to enable players to immerse themselves in history, share common references and facilitate learning and the acquisition of knowledge. A great way to learn while having fun."
