"Duality is an online abstract strategy game developed by Patrick Tacchini. It offers a new kind of strategic experience. The originality and variety of piece
movements across the board provide a depth of gameplay unlike any other.
Concept. As the successor to the game Zoodiak [link], Duality builds upon its foundations and projects them into a new dimension. The board retains its distinctive cross shape, a signature of the original game, while evolving into a digital aesthetic composed of circular cells—evoking a neural network and reinforcing immersion in a digital universe. The pieces represent components of a computing system: Ghost, Agent, Glitch, Core and Proxy. Their movements and interactions across the different zones of the board create a rich, dynamic, and sometimes unpredictable strategic landscape.
Universe. Duality takes place in a world that is both technological and symbolic, where two forces oppose each other without ever fully cancelling one another out. ANIMA embodies instinct, chaos, and spontaneity. MACHINA represents calculation, logic, and control. Between these two poles, each game becomes an unstable balance where anticipation meets adaptation.
Vision. Designed from the outset as a digital experience, Duality aims to revisit classic strategy games without betraying their essence. A physical version of the game is currently under consideration."
